Separate Paths
By the time 1999 rolled around, they were still dating. All told, they were together for two and a half years as a high school couple, in addition to the time they'd spent as friends and casually infatuated with one another in grade school.
Anthony had started to work for Gord at his garage, and soon moved up from pumping gas to organizing Gord's data electronically. Mike was surprised to discover that his little sister was still dating Anthony after such a long time.
It was inevitable: their time in high school came to an end, and Liz and her closest friends all chose to attend different universities. It was a difficult goodbye, but Liz knew that she wanted to go north and so they parted ways with the promise that they would stay friends.
While she was away at Nipissing University Liz reconnected with Candace Halloran, who became her roommate, and began talking with Anthony less and less - although they got together when Liz returned home for Christmas and Grandpa Jim could sense that some sparks were still alight.
By the summer of 2000, Liz and Anthony were beginning to lose touch with one another - and were preparing for another year at separate universities at opposite ends of the province.
